Bangladesh government tell BCB to keep Pakistan tour 'short'

The clouds of uncertainty continue to hover as Bangladesh Cricket Board have maintained their stance of only playing T20I series in Pakistan.

According to BCB chief Nazmul Hasan, the Bangladesh government has told them to keep the tour 'short' due to the ongoing tensions between US and Iran.

"We are clear cut, but let's see how they react," he said after the BCB meeting [as quoted by Cricinfo]. "As far as security is concerned, T20 is a better option.

"They should be happy that we still want to go to play T20s. We just wanted rescheduling [of the Tests], not saying we won't tour."

"This is the best thing we can offer to Pakistan."

A similar stance was adopted by the BCB chief executive last month, who had reiterated that Bangladesh would be keen on playing the Test series at a neutral venue.

The PCB are yet to make their official announcement on this matter. However, PCB's strong stance on this issue since Sri Lanka's successful tour last month is unlikely to change which might lead to the tour getting called off.

"All of Pakistan's matches, against Bangladesh or anyone else, will take place in Pakistan,” Ehsan Mani reaffirmed last month.
