Match Tied (Royal Challengers Bangalore win one-over eliminator)
Dwayne Bravo has been recalled to the West Indies squad for the three-match T20 series against Ireland scheduled to commence on January 15.
Bravo made his last international appearance for the West Indies back in 2016 and announced his retirement from the highest level to focus on franchise cricket two years later.
Last month, he opted to come out of retirement to make himself available for selection in the shortest format as part of the Caribbean side's build-up to the defence of their World T20 title.
The two-time World T20 winner possesses a wealth of experience and has excelled in various T20 competitions around the globe with his phenomenal all-round skills.
His inclusion in the 13-man squad boosts the depth of the struggling West Indies T20 unit and provides a cushion of experience to the relatively inexperienced team.
With the West Indies management thinking long-term as they target another T20 World Cup victory, the selectors feel Bravo's pace bowling arsenal will add value to the side.
"Dwayne Bravo was recalled with the specific intention of bolstering our 'death' bowling which was identified as an area that really needs improving," said chief selector Roger Harper.
"His record in this department speaks for itself. He will also be able to act as a mentor to the other 'death' bowlers and lend his experience wherever needed."
The 36-year-old seamer has taken 490 wickets across 450 games with most of his scalps coming in the death overs owing to his skillful variations.
The former skipper's career has often been blighted with controversies, most prominently featuring feuds with the previous administration running Cricket West Indies.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Rovman Powell has also earned a recall for the T20I assignment.
Jason Holder, who was rested for his side's series sweep over Ireland, will not partake in the three T20Is considering his workload.
Fabian Allen and Keemo Paul, both of whom are regular fixtures in the team's white-ball unit, were unavailable due to injuries.
