Four players have been added to the South African squad which indicates there might be changes for the fourth and final Test at the Wanderers starting Friday.
The home side were on the verge of defeat in the third Test which led to the selectors calling up Temba Bavuma, Keegan Petersen, all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo and left-arm quick Beuran Hendricks for the final Test.
All four players were released from four-day franchise matches which started on Monday.
Bavuma, who was dropped from the side earlier over concerns on his lack of form, is likely to participate in the final Test after scoring 180 against the Dolphins for the Lions franchise.
The 29-year-old offered dogged resistance with the bat and was the last man to be dismissed for his team in pursuit of the improbable 430-run target. Zubayr Hamza is likely to be dropped from the playing XI.
Hendricks is being tipped as Kagiso Rabada’s replacement, who will be missing the Test for his over-the-top celebrations after dismissing England captain Joe Root. Rabada was suspended for one Test and docked 15 percent of his match fee by the ICC.
England currently lead the four-match series 2-1.
