Match Tied (Royal Challengers Bangalore win one-over eliminator)
Stuart Broad has been docked 15 percent of his match fee for ‘use of an audible obscenity’ during the fourth and final Test at the Wanderers on Monday.
A demerit point was also added to Broad’s tally when he was involved in a heated exchange with Faf du Plessis. Du Plessis had made physical contact with Jos Buttler, which saw him getting in a verbal assault with Broad. The South African skipper later admitted there was nothing ‘malicious’ in the collision.
He was found to have violated clause 2.3 of the International Cricket Council's Code of Conduct, which relates to "use of an audible obscenity during an international match".
This was Broad’s second offence during a 24-month period. His first offence came when he gave India’s Rishabh Pant a send-off at Trent Bridge in 2018.
When a player reaches four or more demerit points within a 24-month period, that leads to a suspension.
