Bangladesh reject Pakistan's offer to play day-night Test in Karachi

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has turned down Pakistan Cricket Board’s offer to play a day-night Test match in Karachi. According to the BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the team management is not ready to play the pink-ball Test due to a lack of preparation.

"We have spoken with our team management and they are not ready to play a day-night Test at the moment, due to lack of preparation," Nizamuddin Chowdhury said as quoted by Dhaka Tribune.

"The board understands their [team management] point of view and, after taking everything into consideration, we have decided not to play day-night Test in Pakistan."

Bangladesh’s first and only experience of playing a day-night Test against India might be a crucial factor behind their rejection, which saw them facing an innings defeat at the Eden Gardens.

Bangladesh will now visit Pakistan in April, when they play a one-off ODI before heading into the second and final Test of the two-Test series.

Pakistan won the three-match T20I series 2-0 and recently hammered the opposition by an innings and 44 runs in the first Test at Rawalpindi.
