Batting first, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) side scored 184/4, thanks to Ravi Bopara and Kumar Sangakkara's blistering half-centuries. In reply, Multan Sultans folded on 112 as Imran Qayum wreaked havoc on Sultans by snapping up four prized scalps.MCC end the tour with two wins and two losses and the victories came against Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises, Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans respectively.
Sangakkara's decision to bat first proved to be a good one even though they lost three early wickets at 53, but then Bopara alongside MCC skipper's rearguard action hauled them out of trouble. The 89-run stand between the seasoned campaigners was the turning point in the game as the towering total of 184 proved to be an impregnable score for the home side at Aitchison College ground. Bopara thrashed seven fours and four sixes in his unbeaten 70-run knock while Kumar raced to 52 by thumping three fours and three sixes.
Multan's batsmen couldn't come to the party and only Khushdil Shah and Zeeshan Ashraf reached into double figures but their resistance lasted till 17.4 overs as the entire team got bowled out on 112. Khushdil scored 45 off 26 while Zeeshan managed 20 runs and there were no further significant contributions from the batters.
