Multan Sultans v Quetta Gladiators: Top 6 moments of the day

Rossouw punishes Hasnain

Rilee Rossouw's lusty hits were aplenty in his destructive innings during Multan Sultans' final home game in the ongoing PSL 2020.

He signalled his attacking instincts early in the piece by firing on all cylinders to execute terrific strikes consistently.

Perhaps the shot of the day arrived when he advanced down the track to thrash rookie pacer Mohammad Hasnain out of the park.

Marvellous improvisation from Shan

Shan Masood has silenced his critics by conjuring significant contributions in the tournament reinforcing his high worth as the leader of Multan Sultans.

He excellently manoeuvred the field with his skilful strokeplay, amassing 46 runs in 32 deliveries.

Shan hit six fours in his brilliant knock including a superlative paddle around the corner that beat short fine leg to the boundary fence.

Rossouw's record ton

Rossouw etched his name in the record books when he brought up the three-figure landmark in 43 deliveries to become the fastest centurion in PSL history.

The magical moment occurred as a result of a drive through the cover region, helping Rossouw pinch the important single. Animated celebrations from the left-handed batter soon followed his amazing feat.

Shane Watson on another level

Shane Watson breathed life into Quetta Gladiators' chase of the insurmountable 200-run target by manufacturing muscular slogs all over the ground.

Despite being plagued with fitness concerns, Watson dished out 'stand and deliver' stuff to mow the ball for seven sixes.

He smoked a delightful maximum against Bilawal Bhatti in the ninth over of the innings by giving the short ball a proper wallop.

Khushdil Shah's timely strike

Khushdil Shah could not do much with the bat for Sultans but emerged as the unlikely hero in his solitary over amidst Quetta's batting charge.

Skipper Shan took a huge gamble by introducing Khushdil into the attack while Watson and Ahsan Ali were ticking along nicely.

The part-time spinner gave only one run in his over and dismissed Ahsan to tremendously dent Gladiators' progress.

Moeen redeems himself

Moeen Ali dropped a sitter offered from the bat of Shane Watson in the 14th over of the second innings, giving the visitors a brief lift.

Thereafter, the Englishman quickly made amends by pouching a skier from Watson giving Imran Tahir his second wicket of the day, effectively setting up the victory push for Multan.
