Wet outfield forces abandonment of clash between United and Zalmi

The 13th clash between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi was called off following persistent rain in Rawalpindi. The two sides shared a point each.

The previous clash on this venue between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars was also affected by rain – effectively reduced to 12 overs per side. In yesterday’s case, with heavy showers ending well before the start of play, gave the groundsmen a chance to prepare the outfield for the match.

On the points table, Multan Sultans sit at the top with eight points as they thumped Quetta Gladiators today by 30 runs. Quetta Gladiators are placed second with six points. Both Multan and Quetta have played five games each.

Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi are placed third and fourth respectively with five points each after their five games. Karachi Kings have earned two points from their three games while Lahore Qalandars are yet to win a game after playing three matches.

Islamabad United will go head-to-head with Karachi Kings tomorrow (March 1) in Rawalpindi.
