Lynn's breezy ton pulverizes Sultans to secure semi-finals berth for Qalandars

Chris Lynn’s blistering hundred powered Lahore Qalandars to the semi-finals of Pakistan Super League 2020. This is the first time in the history of the tournament that Qalandars have made it to the next round.

With 187 on the board, Fakhar Zaman and Chris Lynn gave their side a blazing start after Zaman was stumped off Usman Qadir’s bowling. Zaman found form with a half-century, which is a big positive for Qalandars going ahead in the tournament.

At the end of powerplay, Lahore were cruising along at 72 for no loss. Sohail Akhtar, batting at No 3 alongside Lynn, played safe with the Aussie batter taking most of the strike and scoring at a faster rate.

Lynn got to his hundred in 52 balls and became the first-ever batsman from Lahore Qalandars to score a hundred in PSL. He smashed 12 fours and 8 maximums in his innings.

Earlier, Multan Sultans were in deep trouble when Shaheen Shah bowled a brute of a full length ball to knock over Moeen Ali. Following the dismissal of Sohail Akhtar, Ravi Bopara and Shan Masood got a small partnership before David Wiese accounted for the duo.

The last six overs of Multan’s innings were destructive. Khushdil Shah’s blazing power hitting saw his side score 90 runs in those six overs to power his side to a defendable total. Khushdil displayed insane level of stroke play, favoring the area between mid-wicket to long off to take Lahore’s death bowling to the cleaners.

Chris Lynn was declared player of the match for his blistering hundred.
