Pakistan middle-order batsman Khushdil Shah has been ruled out for three weeks after fracturing his left thumb while batting in a training session on Saturday.
The white-ball specialist is not participating in the ongoing four-day intra-squad warm-up game and will be unavailable for the next practice match as well.
"As the nail is intact and there is no injury to nail bed, the orthopedic surgeon, team physician and team physiotherapist expect Khushdil to resume physical training by the end of the next week," the PCB press release added.
Khushdil was among the first batch of 20 players who departed for England on June 28, following which two other groups of players have joined the squad subsequently.
The left-handed batsman is known for his power-hitting abilities and is not expected to be in the plans for the Test set-up.
He earned his maiden call-up to the national side last year during the Australia tour and made only eight runs in his solitary appearance in the T20I series.
Khushdil was in blistering form in the unfinished Pakistan Super League earlier this year, amassing 175 runs at a strike rate of over 147 for table-toppers Multan Sultans.
Pakistan's upcoming Test series against England is due to commence on August 5 with the first of the three T20Is scheduled to be held on August 28.
