Sahibzada Farhan and Sohaib Maqsood led the way as Faisalabad got their second win of the tournament chasing down a mighty total of 187 with 11 balls to spare and seven wickets in hand.
Put into bat first, Lahore Blues managed to assemble a hefty total of 187 for the loss of five wickets. Ahmed Shahzad followed an 18 in the last game with a meagre 12 today. Imam-ul-Haq, who went unpicked at the PSL draft yesterday, followed his 44 in the last game with a fifty today. Babar Azam chipped in with 45 while young Hussain Talat – who was retained by Islamabad United in emerging category – added 43 off 26 to tonk his side to 187. Saeed Ajmal was the pick of the bowlers who finished with 3 for 23.
In reply, Sahibzada Farhan and Sohaib Maqsood combined for a 98-run second wicket partnership to steer the chase after the early wicket of Gauhar Ali. Farhan departed after scoring 58 off 44 balls. Following the dismissal of Farhan, Asif Ali joined Maqsood and tonked a whirlwind 45 off just 17 balls to ease the way for Faisalabad.
Maqsood who top-scored with 80 off 42 balls and remained not out was adjudged the man of the match.
