Multiple members of the Chennai Super Kings contingent have tested positive for coronavirus forcing them to extend their quarantine period in Dubai, a report in PTI [Press Trust of India] disclosed.
Although the names of the individuals have not yet been revealed, it is understood that an active India limited-overs bowler is also among people who have been infected.
The team had arrived in the UAE on August 21 and were supposed to begin training upon the completion of their one-week mandatory quarantine.
During this period, the players and support staff had undergone three tests and only after returning them negative would they be allowed to train.
"Yes, a right-arm medium-fast bowler, who has recently played for India, along with a few staff members have tested positive for COVID-19," a senior IPL source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
"As far as we know, one of the senior-most officials of the CSK management and his wife, and at least two members of their social media team are also COVID-19 positive."
