Karachi Whites continued their decent run in the tournament by registering a third consecutive win in the tournament. This time around, Asad Shafiq and bowlers were the star performers in Whites’ win over Islamabad by 19 runs.
Islamabad were unable to chase down a total of 149. Nauman Anwar top scored with 34 off 33 balls whilst other batters contributed with their 20’s – unable to make it big and turn the tables for their side. Rumman Raees was outstanding with the ball – conceding only 18 off his full quota of four overs including a wicket of Saad Ali.
Earlier, Asad Shafiq’s batting was the highlight of the Whites’ innings, smashing five boundaries and two sixes for his 45 off 27 balls. Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was the second highest scorer in the line-up 28(21). Mohammad Irfan and Umar Gul picked three wickets each for Islamabad.
Asad Shafiq was the player of the match for his stellar performance with the bat.
