Zeeshan Malik blasts 84 as Northern make it four in a row

There was no stopping Northern once again as they romped to a 13-run win over Sindh to claim four victories on the trot.

Opening batsman Zeeshan Malik was at the forefront of Northern's dominant performance as the 23-year-old brought up his second half-century of the tournament.

Zeeshan batted with supreme confidence and unbridled aggression to thump the Sindh bowling attack all over the park.

His glorious 52-ball 84 was embellished with an array of fluent strokes that fetched him great rewards. Zeeshan struck nine boundaries and a solitary maximum in his fine innings and was involved in healthy stands with Ali Imran and Haider Ali to set the tone for a formidable total.

Fiery cameos from the lower order extended Northern's blitz unleashed at the top as they finished with 204-5 in their 20 overs.

Sindh's bowlers found it hard to apply brakes on Northern's whirlwind charge with none of the bowling options deployed by Sarfaraz Ahmed being able to leak runs at less than eight an over.

Sindh's chase began in nightmarish fashion when hero of the last match, Sharjeel Khan perished for a golden duck off the bowling of Haris Rauf.

The glaring effect of the massive setback was temporarily assuaged by a counterattacking knock from Azam Khan, who shone with clean striking in his 28-ball 55.

Northern skipper Shadab Khan then helped his side regain control of the proceedings by sniffling the dangerous Azam and Ahsan Ali in quick succession to leave Sindh reeling.

Although Khurram Manzoor firmly held one end for Sindh with a half-century for himself, he failed to accelerate to desired levels and could not kick on to meet the requirements of the climbing asking rate.

Anwar Ali's late blows ignited hopes of an improbable win but Northern staved off any threat of substantial resistance to consign Sindh to 191-7.
