Hussain Talat and Aizaz Cheema outdid FATA with bat and ball respectively Monday to hand Lahore Blues a 19-run win.
Talat walked out to bat in the last powerplay over when Lahore had lost both of their openers for 52 after being put in to bat. His unbeaten 46-ball 68, embellished with eight boundaries, helped his side set a defensible 178-run target.
FATA were reduced to 11 for 4 inside three overs thanks to Cheema in their chase. The right-arm medium-fast picked up all of his three wickets in his first 10 balls. FATA, who are at the bottom of the points table in the eight-team tournament, never really recovered from the early blows but an unbeaten 74 by Sohail Akhtar and 37 by Asif Afridi took their side closer to the total.
Talat and Cheema shared the man-of-the-match awards for their excellent performances.
