Multan Sultans have called up Brendan Taylor and Joe Denly to replace Mahmudullah and James Vince for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) playoffs.
Both Mahmudullah and Vince were ruled out of the upcoming PSL playoffs after they tested positive for coronavirus before departing for Pakistan.
England all-rounder Denly will link up with the Sultans squad in Karachi after clearing his Covid-19 tests while Taylor is currently in Pakistan, taking part in Zimbabwe's limited-overs series against the hosts.
Denly has previously played for Karachi Kings in past PSL seasons and was selected by Multan Sultans ahead of PSL 2019, though he could not represent the team then due to national duty.
Sultans topped the six-team table in the round-robin stage of the tournament and will lock horns with second-ranked Karachi Kings in the Qualifier on November 14. The losers of the Qualifier clash will have another crack at reaching the final via the second Qualifier on the following day.
Taylor was in fine form in the Pakistan ODIs where he smashed a half-century and a terrific ton en route an impressive tally of 204 runs across the three games.
However, the 34-year-old failed to deliver in the T20I contests and managed just 31 runs in the three innings. Taylor already has the experience of playing in the PSL, having appeared for Lahore Qalandars in an earlier edition of the competition.
