ICC T20I Player of the Decade Rashid Khan, world No. 1 T20I batsman Dawid Malan, self-styled 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle and Proteas speedster Dale Steyn are some of the leading foreign players to feature in the Platinum category for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The PCB have unveiled the 25-member Platinum roster of foreign players ahead of the PSL Player Draft for the upcoming season. The annual PSL draft will occur in Lahore on January 10 with the league expected to take place in the February-March window.
The six franchises have been allowed a maximum of eight retentions before the draft as the teams will now engage in transfer and retention decisions.
Some of the overseas players will only be available for a portion of the competition owing to the international calendar constraints and coronavirus restrictions.
The major attractions in the star-studded Platinum list additionally include David Miller, Chris Lynn, Thisara Perera, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Carlos Brathwaite.
Afghanistan's spin bowling superstar Rashid was bought by Quetta Gladiators back in PSL 2018 but could not play the tournament due to national duty. The 244-T20 veteran could now possibly make his PSL debut this year.
Miller will be one of the sought after players for the franchises as they eye to shore up batting firepower.

Lynn played for Lahore Qalandars last year and racked up a stunning century against Multan Sultans to seal his team's maiden playoffs berth. Lahore will thus be looking at the Australian six-hitting machine as a plausible retention before the draft.
Gayle returns to the PSL fold, having represented Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars in past seasons. Dwayne Bravo, Evin Lewis and Lendl Simmons make up for the Caribbean players in the Platinum list.
Steyn donned the Islamabad United jersey in PSL 2020, though his team finished last on the six-team table. His compatriot fast bowler Morne Morkel could be another induction in a PSL team.
Rassie van der Dussen, Imran Tahir, Colin Ingram and Rilee Rossouw are the other South African players in the highest category.
Alex Hales played an integral role Karachi Kings' title-winning campaign in 2020 with Moeen Ali, Chris Jordan and Tom Banton being the other Englishmen in the list.
Mustafizur Rahman and Sandeep Lamichhane have turned out for Qalandars previously and have been included in the collection of Platinum players.
“We are delighted to release a star-studded list of players in the Platinum category even though we are dealing with an unprecedented situation due to Covid-19 and player availabilities are also hampered by a packed FTP calendar," said PCB Director Commercial Babar Hamid.
“The HBL Pakistan Super League 2021 will be another exciting season once again being played in Pakistan. The quality of players on the list is a further testament of the credibility and integrity of the league as it continues to attract the best T20 talent from around the world," he added.
