Anwar Ali’s all-round performance helped Bengal Tigers beat Punjabi Legends by three wickets in the third match of the T10 League. The Pakistani all-rounder picked up 2/25 and struck two sixes in the dying moments of the match to turn the match in his side’s favour.
Legends scored 99-6 in their 10 overs after captain Misbah-ul-Haq elected to bat. Umar Akmal (38 off 25), who had opened the innings alongside Luke Ronchi, and Shoaib Malik (30 off 15) put up a 71-run stand for the second-wicket.
Tigers’ chase suffered a blow during the third over as Hasan picked up back-to-back wickets of Darren Bravo and Cameron Delport on the first two balls of the third over.
The Pakistani pacer picked up two more wickets in the seventh over. But Aamer Yamin’s three meaty blows in the eighth over brought Legends back into the contest. With 15 needed off the last 12 balls, Ali struck two sixes in the ninth over to level the scores at the end of the penultimate over.
