Playing their second game of the day, Punjabi Legends put in Kerala Kings to bat first in the fifth match of the competition. Kings posted 114 for the loss of four wickets, with Paul Stirling top-scoring with 46 while Eoin Morgan and Nicholas Pooran added 21 and 20 respectively.
In reply, Umar Akmal continued his good form from early in the day by adding a quick-fire 31 off just 13 balls. After him, it was Shoaib Malik took the game away with his belligerent batting display, striking six boundaries and four maximums. Malik remained not out at 60 and was adjudged man of the match.
