Adelaide Strikers thumped Brisbane Heat by 56 runs in the 12th match of the Big Bash League.
Strikers, after winning the toss, opted to bat first but their top and middle order collapsed. Only Michael Neser did some face-saving for his side after coming up with 40 off 26 balls – pushing the total to 147 by the end of 20 overs.
Ace Pakistan leg-spinner, Yasir Shah, made his debut for Heat as he kicked off his campaign with two wickets.
Heat collapsed in their run chase and never looked in control, losing four wickets in a space of 19 balls. Gannon top scored with 23 off 28 balls, but that wasn’t enough to chase down 148. Laughlin picked up three wickets whereas the star performer with the bat, Michael Neser chipped in with two wickets.
Neser was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance.
