Michael Klinger’s 83 off 61 balls took Perth Scorchers to the top of the table as they beat Sydney Sixers by six wickets in the final over.
Needing 168 to win, Scorchers lost their first wicket early in the piece, but Klinger anchored their chase till penultimate over before holing out to the long-on fielder.
Klinger, who hit nine 4s and two 6s, was helped by AJ Turner as he made a 32-ball 45 batting at number four.
Earlier, Jordan Silk top-scored for Sixers with a 33-ball 45 after they were put in to bat. They lost Jason Roy in the fourth over when he was trapped by his countryman David Willey LBW. However, Phil Nevill and Nic Maddinson’s 34-run stand got Sixers’ going.
Silk, batting at number four, struck three 4s and a six and remained not out with BJ Dwarshuis.
