Set a total of 112, Renegades chased it down in 15.3 overs with their captain Aaron Finch leading from the front.
The right-handed big-hitting batsman scored 51 from 38 balls with six 4s and two 6s.
He set up a match-defining second-wicket partnership with Cameron White, who scored an unbeaten 44-ball 49, of 91 runs after M Harris (1 off 4) fell on the fifth ball of the chase.
Earlier, Sixers, asked to bat, managed 111/8 as Dwayne Bravo and Mohammad Nabi shared five wickets between them.
The West Indian all-rounder averaged below 10 for his three wickets and the Afghan off-spinner costed 11 for his two.
Sixers’ highest scorer of the innings was Johan Botha, who batted at number eight, with an unbeaten 32 off 23 balls.
