Nathan Lyon Career

Nathan Lyon is an off-spin bowler from Australia. In a country renowned for pace bowlers, Nathan made his mark as an impressive Test spinner. In 86 Test matches so far, he has accumulated 343 wickets. After Shane Warne’s 708 Test scalps, his tally is the best for any spinner who has donned the Baggy Green. Lyon also holds the record for the most wickets by an Australian off-spinner in a Test match.

Shaun Marsh is a left-handed top-order batsman and son of former Australia opener Geoff Marsh. He emerged as a highly talented opening batsman but remained inconsistent for the national side. He featured for Australia in the Under 19 World Cups in 1999 and 2001. On his ODI debut against the West Indies in June 2008, he top-scored with 81 runs and bagged the 'Man of the Match' award for Australia. Once Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist had hung their boots, the onus was on Shaun Marsh to stamp his authority as Australia's go-to opening batsman. He had strings of decent outings in limited-overs, but could never really cement his place in the side.

Marsh struck an outstanding hundred on Test debut against Sri Lanka at Pallekele in 2011. He remained in and out of the team, largely due to injuries. He scored 182 against West Indies in Hobart in 2015 on his comeback. There is no doubting his potential and if he gets his focus right, there are very few as fluent players around as him. With the World Cup not too far away now, all eyes are on Shaun Marsh to finally come good and serve his country for years to come.
