Introduction:

Shadab Khan is one beneficial addition to Pakistan’s team as he is known for being the best leg-break bowler. His performance as a leg-spinner has been a gift to Pakistan’s team.

He was born on 4 October 1998 in Mianwali. This sport-oriented guy, grew up playing on the Mianwali streets as this land already gave us two best players Imran Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq whereas now Shadab has joined as one unique talent. His passion for cricket brought him to Rawalpindi at the age of 12 when he was playing for his school team.

Shadab trained himself for his future career on the professional stage from “National Cricket Academy”, Lahore, where he learned valuable wisdom from former greats.

Debut Appearances:

On a national level, Shadab Khan made his List A debut for Islamabad in the 2016 Pakistan Cup. His T20 debut for Rawalpindi held on 26 August 2016 in 2016-17 National T20 Cup.

Whereas on the international stage, Shadab debuted against West Indies in Twenty20 International on 26 March 2017.

Shadab Khan Career:

Leg-spinner Shadab Khan is a strategic bowler. He plays more in a loopy trajectory. At a very young age, he earned his one place in Pakistan’s Cricket Team.

Shadab was always more fascinated by batting, he even quit bowling. At this point, Ahmed said: “I advised him to consider becoming an all-rounder, then he would have a better chance to play top-level cricket.” To which Shadab was convinced.

His remarkable performances in the matches achieved him proposals to play for “Trinbago Knight Rides” in the 2017 Caribbean Premier League, later he was signed with “Brisbane Heat” for the 7th season of Big Bash League.

Adding more his career as he achieved the appreciation and T20I cap against Windes. Whilst playing in T20I, based on his performance, he won himself Man of the Match award. As then, he recorded the figures 4-0-7-3 in debut match.

Other than that, he was awarded Man of the Match award in ODIs for his 3 wicket haul.

World Cup19:

After an impressive and striking presentation, Shadab Khan was also named as part of Pakistan’s World Cup Squad 2019. Though at the time, he was diagnosed with a virus in his blood but luckily he was declared fit before the League started.

In a press conference, he quoted: “I am delighted to know that the blood tests are negative and I can now return to competitive cricket. I was always very confident that I would fully recover from the viral infection and will be available for the World Cup.”

In that regard, former captain Younis Khan wrote in a column: “Shadab is the key man in this side and I think they will look to bring him back in against India.”

In World Cup19, 47 wickets across 34 games were given by Shadab Khan. Since the previous World Cup, Shadab and an England cricketer Adil Rashid took more wickets than a bowler.

Shadab says: “Because of wrist-spinners spin every way.”

"If there is spin there it’s very difficult to play if you bowl in good areas, and it’s very difficult to play on any surface. That’s why it’s important. With a leg-spinner, yes you may score runs, but he is a wicket-taker. You’re always looking for wickets so that’s why we’re always in the game.”
