Bilal Asif is another one of those cricketers who were talked up before their debut in international cricket, but were either not given an extended run in the national side or failed to realize their potential. Nevertheless, the 32-year-old grabbed the headlines in 2015, owing to his storming debut in the T20 format.
Batting at no.3 for the Sialkot Stallions, Bilal struck a breathtaking knock in just his first match. Taking the Abbottabad Falcons bowling to the cleaners, the right-hander clubbed 10 sixes and 8 boundaries in his 48-ball 114.
He brought up his century rapidly in just 43 balls, which till the date remains the fastest hundred in Pakistan’s domestic T20’s. His splendid 114 runs are also the highest number of runs scored on a T20 debut.
The exquisite striking shown by Bilal on that fateful night however have not been repeated since then, as he failed to make a mark in international cricket.
