Pakistan is rightly known as the factory of fast bowlers and the latest surge of young left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi is a testimonial to the talent the country has. The 18-year-old has continued his rapid rise in international cricket by scalping 4 wickets in the opening game of the ODI series against New Zealand.
Playing just his 4th match, Shaheen registered career-best bowling figures of 4/47. He initially jolted the Kiwis’ aggressive start to the innings by dismissing the openers early on, before coming into the attack in the backend of the innings to further dent New Zealand’s progress.
Despite his impressive spell of bowling, Pakistan ultimately faced defeat by 47 runs following Trent Boult’s hat-trick in the second innings.
