Former Pakistani captain Sana Mir recently became the first ever cricketer from her country to top the ICC rankings for bowlers in Women’s cricket. An inspirational figure, she has been a constant presence in the team for over a decade and has done exceedingly well throughout.
Talking about her no.1 ranking, Sana reckoned that her achievement will surely motivate girls from all over Pakistan to pursue their passion in sports. She stated that if she can excel in the game, then any other girl from her nation who puts in the hard work, will also succeed in the long-run.
“This no.1 ranking is important to me is that it will give a lot of confidence to young girls, especially in Pakistan, that they can reach the top of any sport they pick,” she said.
