A spinner from Uttar Pradesh has landed himself in a controversy due to his unusual bowling action in a domestic game in India.
Spinner Shiva Singh came on to bowl against Bengal during the U-23 Nayudu tournament, but his bowling action was declared illegitimate by the umpire when he took a 360-degree turn during the jump at the bowling crease.
The UP players protested against the decision since there was nothing wrong with the bowling action which conformed to all regulations.
According to the law, an umpire has the right to decide whether the action of a bowler is fair or not.
Former English skipper Michael Vaughan was surprised at the incident as he said that the delivery was perfectly fine and such innovation is needed among bowlers to tackle the batsmen friendly cricket these days.
