Pakistan managed to end the New Zealand hoodoo after beating them in an ODI after almost four years. Firstly, Pakistani bowling unit unsettled New Zealand with an extremely good performance led by teenage paceman Shaheen Shah, and then batted nicely to ace the chase within 41 overs.
The explosive batsman of Pakistan Fakhar Zaman finally came good in the United Arab Emirates to record his best ODI batting display in the country which consisted of 88 runs. With the seventh ODI half-century of his career, the belligerent batsman would aim to carry the form into the final of the series.
The Mardan born cricketer looked uncertain in the start as he consistently failed to connect deliveries which were bowled into his body. However, with passage of time, he relied on timing rather than muscling them. Converting a cautious start into a substantial knock, Fakhar delivered a timely knock which included 11 fours.
