Mohammad Hafeez is known as an emblem of accuracy and control over the cricket ball. This popular reputation, however, took a brief yet hilarious hit during the first innings of the encounter between New Zealand and Pakistan at Abu Dhabi.
Bowling the 15th over of the New Zealand innings, Hafeez completely lost grip over the ball as it lobbed high into the air and flew adjacent to the pitch. To make his blooper more comical, Kiwi batter Ross Taylor failed to connect with the ball as he tried his best to smash it out of the park.
The error only cost Hafeez 1 run off a wide as the result could have been much worse for the 38-year-old. That was perhaps his only slip-up during a tight spell of bowling in which he gave away just 31 runs.
