Pakistan defeated New Zealand by six wickets in the second One-day International (ODI) in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. Pakistan bowlers restricted New Zealand to 209 for 9 in the stipulated 50 overs. Ross Taylor scored 86 not out and Henry Nicholls made 33.
While chasing the target, Pakistan batsmen showed their heroics and led their side complete the required runs in 40.3 overs. Fakhar Zaman contributed 88 and Babar Azam added 46. Imam-ul-Haq, on 16, was forced to retire after a short delivery from fast bowler Lockie Ferguson hit the grille of his helmet. Shaheen Afridi, who had taken four important wickets, was named player of the match.
