Pakistan defeated New Zealand by six wickets in the second One-day International (ODI) in Abu Dhabi on Friday. However, the match was overshadowed by a worrying injury to batsman Imam-ul-Haq.
Imam, on 16, was forced to retire after a short delivery from fast bowler Lockie Ferguson hit the grille of his helmet. He was immediately taken to hospital in an ambulance for treatment.
Later, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued an update on the matter and said that the batsman’s all scans were clear. The board further revealed that he has joined back the team.
The third and final ODI between the sides will be played in Dubai on Sunday.
