Former England all-rounder Ravi Bopara has signed a one-year contract extension with Essex that will keep him at the club until the end of 2019, it was learnt on Wednesday.
“I’m glad to have signed a new one-year deal with Essex County Cricket Club. I’m excited for the upcoming season, which will be my 18th year with the Club and at 33, I still have plenty of years left,” Bopara said.
The 33-year-old had made his first-class debut for the county in 2002. He had represented England in 13 Tests, 120 One-day Internationals (ODIs) and 38 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). He had also played in the Pakistan Super League, Indian Premier League, Big Bash League and Bangladesh Premier League.
