One of the major talking points going into the forthcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is the blockbuster trade of Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators whose one part included the moving of hard-hitting batsman Umar Akmal to the two-time finalists Quetta.
While social media took a dig at Quetta for hiring the batsman which failed in the last two seasons of Pakistan’s T20 gala, the franchise recently disclosed the wisdom behind the signing of the 28-year old cricketer. Honoring their thinking process, the Lahore born batsman gave a good account of his murderous batting skills in the second season of the T10 league.
In the recently concluded T10 league, the Lahore born cricketer smashed 157 runs in six games to end as the highest run scorer for his team Punjabi Legends. The explosive cricketer managed a strike rate of 165.26 which heartened the franchise which represents the province of Balochistan.
Sharing the glimpses of his brilliance in the shortest format of the game, the franchise is expecting the middle-order batsman to replicate a similar show and contribute towards their goal of claiming their maiden title of PSL.
