The stream of impressive performances in the white-ball cricket coupled with the injury of the pacer Mohammad Abbas helped the teenage pace sensation Shaheen Shah earned a Test cap after playing only 3 first-class games.
Right from the word go, the paceman looked to be at home as he was threatening to take a wicket which eventually came when he trapped Tom Latham in front of the wicket. Initially, the decision was not out, but Pakistan took a review to honor Shaheen with his maiden wicket in Test cricket.
While many feared about rushing the 18-year old pacer into the longest format of the game, his bowling display portrayed maturity. The Lahore Qalandars pacer gave a good account of his skills bowling in tough conditions.
