Pakistan’s spin king Yasir Shah continued to dazzle the Kiwi batting line up with his breathtaking displays of skillful spin bowling. In doing so, the ace Test spinner of Pakistan shattered many records. However, smashing a record which was held for 82 long years is something which will bring him a lot of confidence and pride.
Starting the day with 199 wickets in the longest format of the game, the 32-year old spinner was only one wicket away from name the Australian spinner Clarrie Grimmett’s record after him who was quickest to 200 wickets in Test cricket by doing so in 36 games.
The Swabi born spinner has beaten the glorious record of Grimmett by a good margin of three games. His 200th Test victim was none other than the Kiwi debutant William Somerville. Going back to a quick delivery of Yasir, Somerville was trapped right in front of the stumps to give Pakistan’s spin sensation the moment of his life. More importantly, Yasir will aim to continue his progress and keep contributing well to claim many memorable victories for Pakistan in the future.
