Cameron Bancroft has returned from his 9-month ball tampering ban in style after he led his side Perth Scorchers to victory over the Melbourne Stars with a breathtaking knock. Finding his form with the bat after 4 games in the Big Bash League (BBL) since his comeback, Bancroft pummeled the Stars bowling attack to all parts of the ground for a well-crafted half-century.
Top-scoring for his side with 59 off 42 balls, Bancroft smashed 4 boundaries and 2 massive sixes in his pacey innings. The wicket-keeper batsman’s impressive knock certainly quickens his process into coming back into the Australian national side.
The 26-year-old was banned by Cricket Australia (CA) for his role in the ball tampering that took place in the match against South Africa at Cape Town. Bancroft was convicted alongside David Warner and Steve Smith for hatching the plan and executing it to tamper with the surface of the ball using sandpaper.
