The Pakistani batting lineup has not been able to put up a show in the ongoing Test series against South Africa as they have crumbled in all the games up till now.
However, young Babar Azam has shown great signs with the bat in this series as he has scored 2 half-centuries in 4 innings and both of those innings have been a treat to watch.
After having a shaky start to his Test career, Babar now seems more comfortable in the longer format as he has been in the runs of late.
While taking on one of the best fast bowlers of this century, Dale Steyn, Babar did not flinch for a moment as he took him on with confidence and did not let his pace and swing stop him from playing some exquisite shots all around the park.
In the 3 innings that he has batted against Steyn, Babar has scored 72 runs in 66 balls at a strike rate of 109 which is the highest for any batsman against the former world number 1 bowler in Test cricket.
The skillful pacer has bowled at almost every length to the right-hander but has not been able to dismiss him mainly because Babar has picked his length quite early and has used his pace to send the ball to the boundary on most occasions (16 times).
It will be interesting to see how Babar plays the speedster in the ODIs as he is said to be one of the finest players of white ball cricket in the world right now.
