Team Australia will turn back the clock during the three-game Gillette ODI series as they will don a retro yellow and green uniform for the one-day series against India, unveiling a kit for the three-match series that harks back to the Allan Border era.
Players showed off the retro kit they will wear to kick off the series against India on Saturday as they posed for an official photograph at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Australia has endured a slump on ODIs having lost their previous three bilateral series, and they would be keen on giving themselves a fresh start to the new year by wearing the inspirational kit.
Fast bowler Peter Siddle, who is making a comeback to the ODI team for the first time in eight years, is one of the many Australia players thrilled to be wearing the retro kit.
“It’s pretty awesome actually,” Siddle said. “We found out the other day we were going to be in it, so the boys were a bit excited to get their pack and open up and check it out,” he said.
