The woeful displays in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) installed Lahore Qalandars as the only side to finish last in all the three seasons of the tournament. This led to an overhauling of their squad as they build a new unit and appointed veteran cricketer Mohammad Hafeez as their captain.
Wicket-keeping remained one of their biggest headaches in last year’s tournament. To counter this muddle, the Qalandars have equipped the services of established Zimbabwean wicket-keeper batsman Brendan Taylor.
The 32-year old prodigious cricketer is a very intelligent pick as his prowess against spin makes him a great contender to feature in the final eleven of Lahore. Possessing a wealthy experience of 134 T20s, the Harare born player has approximately 3000 T20 runs at a decent strike-rate of 119.76. Apart from his anchoring skills, Taylor is well-known for his hitting power.
This would be the first instance of him playing in the glorious T20 league of Pakistan. Lahore Qalandars will start their redemption campaign in PSL on February 14 against reigning champions Islamabad United at Dubai.
