India has established its supremacy in world cricket after becoming the first Asian side to win a Test series in Australia. This magnificent achievement has landed it a special place in history and reflects the dominant nature of the current Indian Test unit.
While India’s players displayed some brilliant individual performances to deliver victory for their side, they were helped by the fact that they were up against the weakest Australian team in ages.
Led by an under the pump captain Tim Paine and without their two best batsmen David Warner and Steve Smith, Australia floundered badly.
This was alluded to by Pakistan’s batting great Mohammad Yousuf, who is not too impressed by Virat Kohli’s men. In a recent interview, he claimed: “If the Pakistan team went to Australia now, even they have a chance of winning there.”
Pakistan’s Test side itself is quite under pressure of late as they have lost back-to-back series against South Africa and New Zealand.
