Australian cricketer Ben Cutting needed five stitches to his face after he suffered a gruesome blow to his face that left him bloodied while attempting a catch in the match against Melbourne Renegades in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL).
The ball went high into the Brisbane night sky as Cutting positioned himself to take the catch. Unfortunately for him, the ball went straight through his hands and instead smashed into his nose, leaving him bloodied and on the floor. Medical staff rushed in to attend to the 31-year-old. Cutting left the field immediately and later returned after passing a concussion test.
However, Cutting's brave effort went in vain as the umpires deemed the ball was not in his hands for a sufficient enough amount of time to deem it a fair catch.
