Pakistan’s former captain Mohammad Yousuf has expressed his disappointment for Yasir Shah due to the leggie’s inability to take wickets during the ongoing tour of South Africa. Yasir’s selection in the first two Test matches raised a lot of eyebrows.
“I was particularly shocked with Yasir Shah, as he was not able to do anything here [South Africa], being one of the best spinners in the world and boosting several records. I believe he didn’t trouble any batsman,” said Yousuf.
Shah, who was picked as the frontline spinner for the first and second Test in Centurion and Cape Town respectively, couldn’t yield any fruitful returns. He was only able to take one wicket in the two Tests he played against South Africa, diluting Pakistan’s bowling attack considerably.
Yousuf was also of the view that Yasir’s flop show must have irked captain Sarfraz Ahmed, as he was backing Yasir to continue the terrific form he showed against New Zealand, versus South Africa as well.
