The Indian cricket team lost the first ODI against Australia some days ago as their batting was found wanting against the new limited-overs pace attack of the hosts.
After losing 3 wickets for just 4 runs in Sydney, it was the 141-runs partnership between Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni which brought India back into the game.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli recently said that Ambati Rayudu is the regular number 4 batsman in the squad and he does not want Dhoni to move up the order as he is more effective down the order.
However, vice-captain Rohit Sharma has given a contradicting statement as he said that number 4 is the ideal position for Dhoni in limited overs cricket as per his opinion.
“Personally, I always feel him batting at No. 4 will be ideal for the team. Rayudu has done really well now at No. 4, so it totally depends what the captain and coach thinks about it. Personally asking, yes, I would be happy if he Dhoni bats at No. 4,” he said.
