South African skipper Faf du Plessis was one of the high-profile players part of World XI squad that toured Pakistan for a 3-match T20 series in 2017. This marked a momentous occasion in Pakistan cricket, presenting the notion that the country is safe for international teams to visit.
Looking back at the significant event, du Plessis remarked what a wonderful experience it was. He was especially gushing over the top quality security arrangements made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and government for the World XI players.
“The security in Pakistan was amazing. As soon as we landed there, the security was like a Hollywood movie. There were snipers on the roof, bulletproof trucks and we even had to put masks on ourselves, it was amazing to experience that,” the 34-year-old said.
“The passion for cricket in Pakistan is not something you can explain to people. The people of Pakistan are so hungry to see cricket back in their country,” du Plessis added.
