Pakistan’s fast bowler, Hasan Ali was forced to wear sunglasses, a rare sight in cricket during the second innings of South Africa on Day 2 of the last Test match. The incident happened following the midges’ attack on Pakistani bowlers from one end.
A swarm of gnats was buzzing around Hasan when he was charging into the crease which forced him to wear sunglasses. Mohammad Amir and Faheem Ashraf too faced difficulty in delivering the ball due to the abundance of midges.
The fast bowler even managed to get Hashim Amla out leg before in his new avatar, however, it turned out that there was bat involved after the Proteas player reviewed the umpire’s decision.
Hasan is known for his aggression and energy on the field, most famous being his wicket-taking celebration. The young fast bowler once again showed his dedication for cricket despite the difficult conditions. Commenting on the pacer’s sheer energy, commentator Mark Nicholas said, “I’ve got so much admiration for Hasan Ali.”
