Ian Bell, the middle-order batsman of England, is one of the accomplished cricketers of the world. The star batsman is currently featuring in the ongoing edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) where he is representing Dhaka Dynamites.
The 36-year old batting star, after the conclusion of the BPL, will be joining the Islamabad United squad for this year’s season of the enchanting Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The defending champions have this tradition of giving nicknames to all their players and Ian Bell is no exception.
Considering the cool and composed nature of the Warwickshire born player, the Islamabad’s franchise has named him ‘Thand’ which is a word of Urdu language carrying the meaning ‘cool’.
The reigning champions expect their latest recruitment to carry the unit through crunch situations. Bell is likely to make his PSL debut on February 14 at DSC when Islamabad will battle Lahore in the opening game of this year’s edition of Pakistan’s T20 gala.
