Comilla Victorians have become the undisputed champions of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) after thrashing the Dhaka Dynamites in a high-scoring run-fest in the final. At a pitch where bowlers from both sides were routinely dispatched to the boundary, Pakistan left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz stood tall with his intimidating skills.
The 33-year-old used all his international experience to help defend the towering total of 199/3 posted by Comilla. Wahab cut through the Dhaka chase by snapping up two of their most important batsmen for cheap scores – Shakib Al Hasan and Kieron Pollard.
Wahab pegged back the Dhaka lineup in the grand finale with his economical bowling. He saved probably his best bowling display in the tournament for the last, and ended with brilliant figures of 3/28 in his 4 overs. He later took to Twitter to express happiness at this magnificent achievement.
