Islamabad United would enter the 4th edition of the Pakistan Super League as defending champions after winning the last title in Karachi last year. The franchise has a new leadership this time around with the same management staff.
Fast bowler Mohammad Sami would lead the side for the first time while all-rounder Shadab Khan would assist the former in his duties as the successor of JP Duminy.
Islamabad United director and bowling coach, Waqar Younis has congratulated the newly appointed leaders on getting the responsibility for the upcoming season as he feels that both the players deserve to be in those spots, keeping in mind their past achievements for the franchise.
Furthermore, Waqar also said that the management values the contributions of Sami and Shadab for the team which is why they have shown full confidence in their abilities.
