Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) new managing director, Wasim Khan has taken a firm stance on the issue of a lack of bilateral series between India and Pakistan. Reiterating PCB Chairman’s viewpoint on the matter, Wasim called on Pakistan cricket to move beyond this and create a scenario where Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) requests a bilateral series.
“We keep on asking them to play us but let's create a situation where they ask us to play. I think we need to do that. It's sad that we are not playing against them but life continues. We need to move forward and carry on. We can't wait forever to play India,” Wasim stated in a press conference in Lahore.
He told reporters that Pakistan will have to wait and see how the political climate evolves in India in regards to the General Elections scheduled to be held in the country later this year.
Pakistan last played India in an ODI and T20 series in 2012, whereas Tests have not been conducted between the two nations for over a decade.
